Case study: A solo founder shipped a $30k MRR SaaS in six weeks with Vibely
How Maya, a former product designer with limited backend experience, used Vibely to build, launch, and grow a vertical CRM to $30k MRR before her 90-day notice period ended.
Maya had been a product designer at a logistics startup for four years. She gave notice in March, planning a quiet sabbatical. Six weeks later, she was running a $30k MRR vertical CRM. This is how she did it, in her words, with the receipts.
The opportunity
"Every freight broker I had worked with was using a spreadsheet and a CRM built for car salesmen. The fit was awful. I had drawn the right product on a napkin a hundred times. I just could not build it." — Maya
Week 1 — From napkin to live preview
Maya started a Vibely project on a Monday. By Tuesday afternoon she had a live URL with: organizations, contacts, deals, a freight-specific stage flow, and an email composer. She had written zero lines of code.
"The thing that surprised me was how fast small turns felt. I would say 'put the deal value in the card header in monospace,' and three seconds later it was there. I never had that with engineers, no offense to engineers."
Week 2 — Real data
Vibely connected Supabase, generated the migrations, and wrote the queries. Maya manually imported a 6000-row CSV from a friend's freight company who had agreed to be design partner #1.
Week 3 — Auth, billing, and the first paying customer
Maya wired Stripe with one prompt. The friend paid $99 the next day. "I cried, then I felt stupid for crying, then I cried again."
Weeks 4-5 — Cold outbound and the first ten
While Vibely shipped tweaks (a duplicate-detection on contact import, a CSV exporter, two email templates), Maya sent 220 personalized cold emails and got on 14 calls. Ten became paid customers in the first week. Average plan: $149.
Week 6 — Mobile
"Brokers live on the phone. Not metaphorically — physically, in a truck. I needed mobile." Maya forked the project into a Vibely mobile build. The Expo preview was on her test phone in two minutes; TestFlight was live by the end of the day.
The numbers
- Time to first preview: 38 seconds
- Time to first paying customer: 16 days
- MRR at end of week 6: $30,200
- Lines of code Maya hand-wrote: ~40 (a few SQL functions she preferred to control herself)
- Vibely cost: $290 across the six weeks
What Maya credits
"Three things. The preview being live before the agent finished writing — it changed how I worked, because I never had to wait. The diffs being clean — I could actually read them, even though I am not really an engineer. And the mobile build being a fork, not a rewrite — that single feature is why I still have a business."
What did not work
Maya tried two other AI builders first. One produced a 1200-line single-file React component on the first prompt and never recovered from it. The other did not have a real database story and lost her data twice.
What is next
Maya is hiring her first engineer this summer. "Not because the AI got worse. Because there is more product to build than I can drive alone, and I want a partner."
