1. What these terms cover
These terms apply when you connect a domain you own to a Vibely project, and to the vibelyagent.com subdomain every project gets. They are part of our Terms of Service, and the defined terms, the limitation of liability and the governing-law and forum clause there apply here too.
Connecting a custom domain requires a Pro or Business plan. Every project also gets a subdomain of vibelyagent.com at no cost.
2. We are not a registrar
Vibely does not sell, register, renew, transfer, park, or broker domain names. We are not a registrar, not a reseller, and not an ICANN-accredited entity. We do not hold your domain and we cannot act on it.
That means renewal is yours. If your registration lapses, your app stops resolving and there is nothing we can do from our side — we never see the renewal notice. The same is true of a registrar lock, a transfer, an expired payment method on your registrar account, or a registrar suspension for invalid WHOIS contact details.
3. You bring the domain and you stay the registrant
You buy the domain from a registrar of your choice and you remain the registrant on the record. Connecting it to Vibely does not assign, license, or transfer any ownership to us, and it does not make us a party to your registration agreement. You keep full control at your registrar throughout, including the ability to point the domain somewhere else at any moment. You warrant that you have the right to use the domain and that using it does not infringe anyone else's rights.
4. DNS requirements
When you add a domain, Vibely shows you the exact DNS records to create, with their type, host, and value. You add them at whoever runs your DNS. There are two kinds:
- Routing. A subdomain such as www takes a CNAME. A root domain cannot take a plain CNAME, so it takes an A record (and an AAAA if we show one), or an ALIAS, ANAME, or CNAME-flattening record if your DNS provider supports one. We show you which applies to the hostname you entered.
- Verification. A TXT record proving you control the domain, and a TXT record that lets the certificate authority issue your TLS certificate.
5. Leave the records in place
All of the records we give you stay. The verification records are not one-time: they are how the certificate is renewed. If you delete them, change the routing record, move your nameservers, or enable a proxy or redirect in front of us, the domain will stop serving your app, the certificate will eventually fail to renew, and the connection will show as failed until the records are restored. Vibely is not responsible for downtime caused by DNS changes made outside Vibely.
6. Verification and going live
A domain does not serve your app until the verification records resolve. While a connection is pending we re-check it every 30 seconds and show you the current status. Propagation is controlled by your DNS provider and its TTLs, not by us — it is usually minutes and can be several hours. We do not commit to a time in which a domain will be live.
7. What we provision
For a connected domain that has verified, we:
- Issue and renew a TLS certificate at our edge, and serve your app over HTTPS.
- Route requests on that hostname to the project you attached it to.
- Where you connect a root domain, also set up the matching www hostname so both work.
- Show you the status of ownership verification and certificate issuance while they are pending.
8. What we do not provide
To be explicit, none of the following is part of the Service:
- Domain registration, renewal, transfer, or recovery of an expired domain.
- Running your nameservers, or managing DNS records other than telling you which ones to create.
- Email for your domain. We do not provide MX records, mailboxes, or email forwarding, and connecting a domain to Vibely does not affect your existing mail — as long as you leave your MX records alone.
- A resolution-time commitment, or any commitment on how quickly a domain goes live. Availability of a Published App served on a connected custom domain is covered by our Service Level Agreement at /sla; nothing else on this page is.
- WHOIS privacy, registrar-level security features, or domain monitoring.
9. Hostnames you cannot connect
You cannot connect a hostname on a domain we operate — including vibely.sh, vibelyagent.com, and the other hosts the platform serves from. Your project's vibelyagent.com subdomain is ours, licensed to you for as long as your account is in good standing; we can reclaim or change it, and we will normally tell you first unless the reason is abuse.
10. Your app is still your responsibility
Our Acceptable Use Policy applies to a custom domain exactly as it applies to a vibelyagent.com subdomain. Putting your own name on the address bar does not change what may be served there, and it does not move responsibility for your app's own legal compliance — its privacy notice, its cookie consent, its terms — from you to us.
11. Suspension
We may stop serving a domain, without notice where the harm is ongoing, if it is used for phishing, malware, fraud, or impersonation, if it breaches our Acceptable Use Policy, if a court or a competent authority orders it, or if the workspace it belongs to is suspended or terminated.
Suspension removes the mapping between the domain and your Vibely project. It does nothing to the domain itself: you remain the registrant, your registration is untouched, and you can point the domain anywhere else immediately. If you believe we got it wrong, email [email protected] and we will look again.
12. Trademark disputes and UDRP
A dispute over who is entitled to a domain name is between you, as registrant, and the complainant. It is decided by your registrar, by a UDRP or INDRP provider, or by a court. Vibely is not a party to it, is not a registrar, and cannot transfer, cancel, freeze, or hand over a domain — we have no such power over your registration.
What we can do is stop serving a hostname, and we will do that where a court or competent authority orders us to, or where the use plainly breaches our Acceptable Use Policy. If you receive a complaint about a domain connected to Vibely, tell us at [email protected]. You indemnify us for claims arising from your use of a domain under the Indemnification section of our Terms of Service.
13. Cancellation, downgrade, and deletion
A custom domain is served while the workspace is on a plan that includes custom domains. If you cancel, downgrade below Pro, or delete the project, we stop serving the hostname and remove the certificate and the routing configuration at our edge. Nothing is refunded for the remainder of the period; see our Refund and Cancellation Policy.
Your domain is unaffected. It stays registered to you at your registrar, and the DNS records we asked you to create stay where they are until you remove them. Please do remove them — a routing record pointing at a service that no longer serves you is a dangling record, and dangling records are how subdomains get taken over. You can also disconnect a domain yourself at any time from the project's settings.
14. Changes to these terms
We will give at least 14 days' notice of material changes to these terms, by email or in-product notice, as our Terms of Service require. Changes to the specific DNS records we ask you to create are operational, not contractual — we will show the current records in the product and tell you when one you already created needs to change.
